The Associate Registrar provides highly responsible supervisory and technical work in the oversight, maintenance, and operation of the Registrar***s Office and the Enrollment Management Division. The Associate Registrar works as a team with other senior staff and all registrar staff to develop policies and practices and to manage, monitor, and recommend improvements for registrar office and enrollment management functions, operations, and systems. This position will supervise the course and classroom scheduling staff and will work with the Registrar to implement and use technology to support efficient course scheduling and classroom use. This position is also responsible for effective communication to students, faculty, staff, and the general public through the website and messages to constituencies. This position serves on University committees as appropriate and supports the Registrar in various University initiatives, and he/she participates in other Registrar Office projects and team assignments as requested. The Associate Registrar provides responsible supervisory and administrative support to the University Registrar by giving direction to all staff, and provides leadership for excellent customer service in the office. The Associate Registrar acts on behalf of the Senior Associate Registrar and the Registrar in her/his absence. The Associate Registrar is a member of the Registrar***s team of senior managers and is an integral part of a positive, efficient, and productive work environment in the Office of the Registrar. This position reports to the University Registrar. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: *** Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience with a combination of registrar and higher education experience; *** Demonstrated knowledge of student information systems such as Banner or PeopleSoft; *** Demonstrated understanding of the application of technology to deliver records and registration services and experience working with a variety of computer applications and data systems used in records office; *** Excellent written and verbal communication skills; *** Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage personnel; *** Ability to plan projects, implement operational strategies, and good judgment in decision-making; *** Experience in interpreting and applying regulations or policies and procedures; *** Demonstrated ability to independently research, compile, develop and summarize material for reports on a frequent or recurring basis; *** Ability to analyze information, identify problems, define alternatives, and develop recommendations for management/administrators; *** Ability to represent University in community/professional situations; *** Evidence of skills and initiative in teamwork and customer service; *** A proven record in working successfully with diverse populations; *** A positive attitude and ability to plan and adapt to change; *** Ability to collaborate effectively with college departments and cross-functional teams.
