The TRAVIS BEAN Wedge model bass is extremely rare and this one maintains its original factory ordered and supplied Anvil flight case. Unfortunately many of the Wedge model guitars and basses that were kept in their original Anvil flight case eventually suffered finish damage due to their cases foam filling decaying and melting into the guitars finish. This example is one of those many misfortunes. The Wedges original owner left the bass un-attended for two years and when he open the case the Anvils original blue colored foam had nearly all melted and the basses finish needed serious attention. The original black/blue pearl finish required color sanding and a light re-spray to bring it back it its original finish glory. The paint touch up was expertly done and the bass has worn its restored finish for the last 15 years, which has allowed it to really take on its own mojo. The case foam was also replaced long ago allowing the bass and case to remain together. Blue outer case color was painted over in silver. A metal support was added to the input jack and pots were changed. Neck, body, hardware, pickups and frets are all original. This bass plays extremely well and has a more than perfect contoured neck and is very balanced as well as being well above average sounding. This is the best playing TRAVIS BEAN bass I have played and I have played quite a few.
